Do I need to download an app?

No. AbegNo works entirely inside WhatsApp. There is nothing to download, install, or update. Just send a message to our WhatsApp number and you are ready to go.

Is AbegNo a bank or lender?

No. AbegNo is a bookkeeping and business records tool. It does not hold customer funds, provide loans, or process payments. It helps you keep track of your sales and customer transactions.

Can I use voice notes to record sales?

Yes. You can send a voice note saying something like 'I sold 3 bags of rice to Mama Joy for ₦45,000' and AbegNo will understand it, extract the details, and save the record. It works in English, Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo.

What data does AbegNo store?

We store the business records needed to provide the service: transaction details, customer names and phone numbers, message metadata, and optional voice recordings for verification. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I check my customer balances?

Just ask "How my business dey?" or "Customer balances" on WhatsApp. AbegNo will show you which transactions are pending, which customers have paid, and your total sales for the period — all in a simple summary.

What happens when I hit my free limit?

When you reach 50 transactions in a month, AbegNo will let you know and offer an upgrade to Standard. Your existing data is preserved, and upgrading takes effect immediately. You can also wait until the next month when your free quota resets.

Is my business data secure?

Yes. AbegNo uses industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest. Your business records are private and accessible only to you. We comply with Nigerian data protection regulations (NDPR).

Can I use AbegNo if I am not in Nigeria?

Currently, AbegNo is optimized for the Nigerian market and pricing is in Naira. However, if you use WhatsApp and need simple bookkeeping, you can use AbegNo from anywhere. We are planning to expand to Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa soon.

Do I need to set up anything before using it?

Nothing at all. Just send a WhatsApp message to our number and start recording sales. Your first message creates your account automatically. No bank details, no KYC, no setup forms.

How does AbegNo make money if there is a free plan?

We believe every small business should have access to basic bookkeeping tools for free. Our revenue comes from paid Standard and Pro subscriptions. The free plan is designed to help you grow until you need more detailed reports and higher capacity.
